Define your part and tooling requirements
A useful mold enquiry includes the part model, intended resin, expected production quantity and cosmetic requirements. Identify critical dimensions, assembly interfaces and surfaces where visible marks are unacceptable. If the tool will run on your equipment, provide the relevant molding machine specifications.
Agree the scope before tooling begins
Clarify cavity requirements, tool material expectations, trial samples, inspection criteria and the delivery destination. Part geometry, undercuts and appearance requirements can influence mold design. Proposed design changes should be reviewed against the function of the finished part.
